A five week Workers’ Educational Association (WEA) course

Duration 2 hours

Cost £31 or free to those in receipt of means tested benefits

This course will examine the ‘Golden Age’ of the political prints of the 18th century, including the work of William Hogarth, James Gillray, and George Cruikshank.  The course will also look at more recent developments in caricature, from ITV’s 1980s satirical puppet show Spitting Image to the work of cartoonist Steve Bell, considering the use of cartoon and caricature in contemporary politics. Workers' Educational Association

The course includes a guided tour of the museum’s Savage Ink exhibition.

A five week learning experience from the Workers’ Educational Association (WEA) in association with the People’s History Museum.
