Meet author Dan Whitehead, experienced gaming writer, as he reads from his exciting children’s novel Atlanta Meets the Cotton Slaves, published by Seven Arches Publishing.  This fictional story takes you back to early Victorian times when, if you were unlucky enough to be born poor, you might have been working in the dust, dirt and noise at Mr Greg’s cotton weaving mill at Styal from dawn till dusk.

Talk to the author about how he researched the book; listen while he reads some of the exciting episodes; try out the fun activities that help to bring the book to life, and take away a signed copy of the book to find out at your leisure how the mills of Lancashire ground to a halt when the American civil war erupted.

Family Friendly activitiy, suitable for children aged 8-13 and their grown ups.

  • Treat yourself to 15% off in The Left Bank cafe bar when you attend an event at the People’ s History Museum.
