Opened in August 1903 as a club for working lads, Salford Lads Club is now the last surviving example of a pre World War I lads club in England.

This exhibition focuses on the club’s remarkable collection of 22,000 handwritten membership records tracing the fortunes of the 13 year old nipper boys as they progressed28 October 2015 - 18 January 2016, The Nippers of Salford Lads Club, record cards @ People's History Museum to errand boys, cabin boys and apprentices.

The records include famous lads Graham Nash and Alan Clark of The Hollies, footballers from Manchester United and Manchester City, boxers, rugby league players and Fred Done of bookmakers Betfred.
