The Fabric of Protest @ People's History Museum

Time 13:30 - 15:30

Duration 2 hours

Cost In order to keep our events programme affordable to everyone, please make a donation. Suggested donation £3

Come along to this monthly creative workshop and share ideas of protest over a cup of tea, while learning new textile techniques.  Taking inspiration from the museum’s collection, participants will work collaboratively to produce pieces of artwork rich in personal responses and exploration.

Currently looking at the Match Girls’ Strike of 1888, we are working on a banner to commemorate the bravery of the girls and the start of unionism as we know it today.  Participants can attend individual workshops or join us on a regular basis to shape how the work develops.

If you would like to book a group onto this event please contact lisa.gillen@phm.org.uk.

  • The next Fabric of Protest workshops are on: Thurs 15 September, 1.00pm – 3.00pm / Sat 22 October, 1.00pm – 3.00pm / Thurs 17 November, 1.00pm – 3.00pm

Suitable for adults and young people over 11
