Time 13:00 - 15:30

Duration 2 hours 30 minutes

Come along to this monthly textile workshop, learn new techniques and share ideas of protest over a cup of tea.  Taking inspiration from the museum’s collection, participants work collaboratively to produce pieces of artwork rich in personal responses and exploration.  Participants can attend individual workshops or join us on a more regular basis to shape how the work develops.  Artist Helen Mather leads the workshops – follow what the participants are learning and creating on Helen’s tumblr blog.  This session will link to the Fabric of Protest exhibition.

During 2018, 100 years since the passing of the Representation of the People Act (1918), The Fabric of Protest group will explore the museum’s 2018 theme of representation, particularly underrepresentation, from past to present.

If you would like to book a group onto this event please contact the Learning Team by emailing learning@phm.org.uk or phoning 0161 838 9190.
