Official maps are about power and control.  The LRM (Loiterers Resistance Movement) want to redraw the lines and break down barriers; our maps focus on stories, feelings and whatever takes your fancy.  The Cake Map of Manchester invites you to take a bite out of the city, with each piece representing a place.  We want you to choose one to eat.

  • Is it somewhere special to you, are you consumed with love and want to keep it safe?
  • Or is it somewhere you dislike and you want to get rid of it?  Be a Godzilla and destroy your least favourite building!
  • Perhaps you just want to know what flavour Central Library is or taste the canal without the risk of falling in…..

The choice is yours.  LRM members will record stories you wish to share and these will help shape the direction of future wanders.

To create our cartographic spectacle we have teamed up with our friends at The Cake Liberation Front; a baking group for anyone interested in cooking without animal ingredients.  All cakes will be 100% delicious and gluten free cakes will be available.  We want everyone to be able to enjoy a treat and tell us what they think about Manchester.  Please come along and play with us, We Love Kids in Museumsdevour the buildings you dislike and help us find the edible heart of our world.Arts Council England
