A walk making connections with Moira Williams, an artist based in Syracuse, New York.  Follow maps of each others’ cities to find shared histories, synchronicities and friendships. The LRM

Moira says:
‘Grab a balloon, grab a map and come along on a walk where we will explore the somewhat shared and connected Industrial Revolution histories of land, waterways and activists between Syracuse, NY, USA and Manchester, England, UK.  Incredible, you say?  Follow a map of Syracuse, NY through Manchester, UK to realise the connections.  Make sure to bring your clear balloon, blow it up and use it as a looking glass throughout the walk.  How so?  Stop and pose in front of a Syracuse monument, historical site, architectural landmark, a celebratory or a paranormal place with the balloon in front of the site.  As you do, snap a pic or more and send them to me to post at the People’s History Museum and in Syracuse, NY where I will be walking a map of Manchester in Syracuse.  I promise to send photos to you in Manchester.  At the end of the walk through Syracuse, you can pin up your balloon around a yellow card on the wall in the museum, loiter and make a song.  Balloons and maps will be provided!’
