Pool Arts Posters Exhibition

Pool Arts Posters Exhibition

An exhibition exploring themes of discrimination, equality and human rights.

18 May 2012 — 27 July 2012

Time 10:00 - 17:00

Duration 7 hours

Manchester based Pool Arts are excited about the opportunity to exhibit new artwork at the People’s History Museum, developed through the wellbeing strand of the museum’s work.  Visual artists have taken part in researching the museum’s collections and archives to develop their own poster designs, inspired by the current Picturing Politics Changing Exhibition.

Visits to the museum have included talks, tours and research with museum curators, archivists and learning staff to spark off ideas and discussions for the exhibition.  For one of the members the process has been inspiring:

“It’s been very interesting to hear the why’s, what’s and how’s   of the way objects and text are presented in the museum.  Myself and other group members hope to carry some of this into our art work, and take the ideas into visits to other museums.”

The exhibition explores themes of discrimination, equality and human rights.
