Before we had the vote, we had petitions!  Meet the team behind Durham University’s Petitions, Parliament, and People research project, funded by the Leverhulme Trust to find out more:

  • Join a short talk at 11.00am – 11.30am or 2.00pm – 2.30pm, revealing the rise, fall, and rise again of Britain’s petitioning tradition
  • Or drop in any time from 11.00am to 4.00pm to view a variety of petitions, on topics ranging from voting rights for working men and women, to animal rights, to the abolition of slavery
