Join Steven Fielding, Professor of Political History at The University of Nottingham, for a series of conversations exploring this vital but controversial moment in Britain’s democratic history.

Having worked to improve the party’s electability since the 1980s, when Tony Blair was elected party leader in 1994, Peter Mandelson became one of the most important figures in the creation of New Labour and securing the party’s election in 1997.  As the ‘Third Man’ in the New Labour hierarchy, he is able to give an unrivalled personal insight into the causes and consequences of the 1997 election.
