  • Zimbo
One Mile Away is a brilliant documentary shot in Birmingham before, during and after the UK Summer 2011 riots which takes the pulse of the streets – by the award winning Penny Woolcock (1 Day, Death of Klinghoffer, Tina Goes Shopping) and produced by James Purnell and Peter Dale.  An amazing companion piece to Ill Manors, also shot before, during and after the Summer 2011 UK riots.  Simeon Moore aka Zimbo is one of the main subjects of the acclaimed documentary, believing that gangs are merely a symptom of a bigger problem and that rather than merely treating the symptom, which has been attempted many times before, we should tackle the bigger issue of mental wellbeing.  Zimbo believes unhealthy minds are one of the biggest problems facing young people of disadvantaged areas today, and is keen to see changes on the streets and in his community.  Zimbo will perform a set featuring some of his songs as used in One Mile Away.

  • Josiah Mortimer
Josiah describes his sound as ‘radical Folk for an angry, young and precarious generation’.  He came to NOISE’ s attention by answering thier Call For Submissions for The Art Of Protest Finalists’ Exhibition currently on display at the museum with his original composition March.  Citing influences such as Bob Dylan, Billy Bragg, and Pete Seeger, we’re really looking forward to hearing him perform at NOISEstock and think he is a perfect addition to the bill!
  • Mushana
Mushana also submitted a song for The Art Of Protest Finalists’ Exhibition.  Smile is a beautiful melodic soul song, which sits at odds with the stark lyrical subject matter; poverty.  NOISE are certain Mushana is destined for great things, so we urge you not to miss the chance to hear her at this special one-off gig.
  • Stripez
Stripez is a songwriter and rapper who is rapidly making a name for himself in the North West and beyond, while still finding time to work as a Youth Leader at Rising Stars North West.  His thought provoking lyrics over catchy hooks will make for a really exciting performance at NOISEstock.

Suitable for young people and adults.
