Visit this colourful exhibition by Manchester Oxfam Group
19 January 2013 — 14 April 2013
Do Mums Matter 2 Mancunians? Of course they do, as volunteers from Manchester Oxfam Group discovered when they began to raise awareness of maternal mortality in the developing world.
This exhibition highlights the group’ s work, focusing on two of their recent major campaigns. The exhibition also looks at the ways in which maternal health in the UK has improved during the twentieth century, and how we can protect the lives of pregnant women and mothers.
Come and see the baby blanket created for the MOMM:1400 campaign by hundreds of Mancunians to commemorate the
women who die needlessly in pregnancy and childbirth every day around the world.
Find out more about Pramble, and follow in the footsteps of this rather unusual petition on maternal mortality issues to the government.

The Community Gallery space is where local groups can display their own work. We try to make these displays relevant to the story told in the museum where possible. If you are interested in exhibiting, contact exhibitions@phm.org.uk
