Author and lecturer Dr David Goodway will lead a talk on the great Chartist, George Julian Harney (1817-1897).  He will be discussing Harney’s extraordinary life and career as an activist, journalist and Chartist leader.

This event marks the recent donation to the PHM of several hundred books which had belonged to Harney, and also the publication of Dr David Goodway’s edition of Harney’s late journalism, The Chartists Were Right.

The talk will be held in the Labour History Archive & Study Centre where a portion of Harney’s library is held.
