The Workers’ Educational Association (WEA) are running a six week course looking at European democracy.  Learners will be encouraged to explore the broad concepts of citizenship, democracy and Europe, and will be introduced to the institutions of the European Union and how citizens can influence change.

Topics this course will cover:

  • What is Europe?
  • How the EU works (part 1)
  • How the EU works (part 2)
  • Issues in the EU – influencing policy
  • Research project, Presentation and Discussion
  • The EU and the World today – Futures?
  • Meeting and Questioning MEPs

Suitable for 18 years and over

Course runs Monday 18 April to Monday 23 May
