Hazel Blears, MP for Salford and Eccles and ex Labour Cabinet minister, has made a four minute film especially for the Colours, Community and Chemistry exhibition (on display from Wednesday 8 October to Sunday 18 January 2015). Her amusing and touching insights into factory camaraderie when working as a student at Cussons describe soap manufacturing and packaging processes as they happened – not far from the People’s History Museum (think, Salford’s version of Made in Dagenham).
The preview trailblazer (on display from Monday 22 September until Sunday 5 October) and film will be introduced by A T Boyle, exhibition curator and author of the novel from Pakistan to Preston.
Suitable for adults and young people
**Unfortunately Hazel Blears MP is now unavailable to attend this event, though it is going ahead as planned so do come along.**
