Summer holidays 2013

Summer holiday events & activities

As much as we hope this lovely weather continues, we hope it won’t dissuade you from visiting throughout the summer holidays as we have lots of different events and activities on offer for all ages.  There will be a craft activity every Wednesday plus you can try our Make a Motorbike craft table inspired by our latest Community Gallery exhibition. Little PHM sessions for under 5s and their grown ups continue every month and not forgetting the interactives throughout the museum galleries.

Play Your Part

Play Your Part

Our new Arts Council England funded project Play Your Part is challenging us to re-consider our relationships with our audiences, working with them to connect the past, present and future.  As the home of ‘ideas worth fighting for’ - for example democracy, peace, equality, welfare – we’re uniquely placed to contextualise contemporary events and ideas.  Follow updates and find out how to get involved via our new blog, take a look at images on our flickr page or visit us and play your part!

Did you know that our Left Bank cafe bar has the sunniest riverside terrace in the city?

Did you know that we have events and activities for visitors of all ages?

PHM Mobile site

PHM mobile website

The museum is pleased to announce that it has recently launched a mobile version of its website.  The mobile site is a condensed version showing key content – what’s on, about us and visit us which is perfect for people accessing relevant information quickly when on the move. If you access from your phone it will automatically give you the mobile version however there is a link on every page should you wish to go to the full site.

Brains: The Mind as Matter at MOSI

Just a few minutes walk away from the museum, MOSI’s new exhibition Brains asks not what brains do for us, but what we have done to brains. Featuring real brains, manuscripts, artefacts, videos and photography, plus local objects and artworks specially curated for its run at MOSI, this absorbing Wellcome Collection exhibition takes us on a quest to understand the most unique and mysterious of human organs, focusing on its form and physical matter.
