Play Your Party

Play Your Party @ People's History Museum Come along for a two day celebration of our exciting Play Your Part project.  We’ll be showcasing some of the fab events and pop up exhibitions that we’ve been trying out over the past few months. On Saturday 1 March experience some Chance Encounters, an exhibition and performance of original creative writing in unusual locations throughout the museum.  Join Tony Walsh (aka Longfella) and Quiet Loner for a rabble-rousing afternoon of poetry and song inspired by the collections of the People's History Museum.  Then party the night away at our 1980s themed Miners’ Strike Benefit Bop. Stitched Up will be on hand to help you make 1980s inspired accessories. On Sunday 2 March be taken on a sensory journey inspired by the history of the Fabian Society. Then round off the weekend by debating current events at our Soapbox Sunday. All weekend you can try out object handling, see some of our new acquisitions and share your thoughts, memories and opinions of campaigns within living memory at our Play Your Part interactive exhibition.
