DADI awards 2010DADI awards 2010 Kirstie Buchanan and Karen Moore collecting the award

The museum was thrilled to win its first national award on Friday night.

People’s History Museum and Reading Room, our digital agency, won a DADI (Drum Awards for the Digital Industries) at the annual awards ceremony held on Friday 12 November.

Our website (www.phm.org.uk) was one of four finalists in the best website in the not for profit/charity sector.  We launched our new website in February this year just before the museum re-opened to the public after its multi million pound re-development.  The museum worked very closely with Reading Room to ensure that the new website was in keeping with our new branding, building and galleries.

At the DADI’s, the judges commented that the website demonstrated beautiful photography, provided so much rich information and was ‘a really nice site’.  Kirstie Buchanan, Creative Director from Reading Room and Karen Moore, the museum’s Marketing Manager, went up to collect the award on behalf of both organisations.

The DADI award ceremony was organised by The Drum and supported by Leeds Live It Love It.
