Play Your Part

The People’s History Museum is delighted to learn that we have secured funding for year two of our Play Your Part project from Arts Council England.

Katy Archer, Director of the People’s History Museum said:

‘We are thrilled to have been awarded this grant from the Arts Council for the second year of our Play Your Part project.  Play Your Part has already achieved so much and made such a difference to our museum.  We have been able to test out new ways of working, develop relationships with new audiences, collect new material and deliver a new and creative programme of events and activities.  In the second year of Play Your Part we will build on all of these successes and explore even further what it means for the museum to be the ‘home of ideas worth fighting for’.  We are looking forward to continuing to work with the Arts Council.’

Throughout 2014/15 the Play Your Part project will look at and deliver activities such as;

  • Continuing the groundbreaking events programme
  • Testing new styles of events at the museum
  • Developing volunteer opportunities
  • Redeveloping the welcome wall in the museum after consultation with visitors
  • Continuing partnership work with a variety of different organisations across the city and Greater Manchester
