M & H Awards 2012

17 May 2012

The museum’s Director, Katy Archer attended the Museums and Heritage Awards for Excellence 2012, held in the Historic Staterooms of 8 Northumberland Avenue in London last night.

Following the announcement, Katy said:

‘The People’s History Museum was very pleased to make the shortlist for the Readers’ Award at the Museums and Heritage Awards for Excellence 2012 – an award voted for by M&H readers and others in the sector.  As voting is so central to the work of the museum, receiving people’s votes is particularly rewarding.  As a centre for democracy, the museum is working everyday with children, young people, families, adult learners, community groups and others to explore how the right to vote was fought for and won, and what democracy means to us today.  Haslemere Museum were a deserving winner and we send them our congratulations!’
