Half Term Holiday Fun

We’re open as usual during the extra long Bank Holiday, so bring your family and friends and enjoy some Half Term holiday fun!  Be inspired by our Picturing Politics changing exhibition and make your own poster to take home at our Poster Power craft table, or get creative with clay and make your own protest pot!  Celebrate the International Year of Co-operatives and take a journey through time with Living History character Woody, a time travelling shopper.

New Community Gallery Exhibition

Visit our new Community Gallery exhibition Layered, curated by local organisation Venture Arts.  On display until Sunday 5 August, this vibrant exhibition highlights the creative talent of over 80 adults and young people from across Manchester who have a learning disability.  The theme, ‘layered’, was inspired by the layering of creative techniques that naturally occurs during the artistic process.  Venture Arts will be leading exciting photography and printing workshops where you can create your own masterpiece to take home.

Last chance to see Picturing Politics

Our current changing exhibition Picturing Politics – Exploring the Political Poster in Britain is on display until Sunday 17 June.  Don’t miss your last chance to see this fascinating exhibition showcasing the museum’s unique poster collection, which is the largest in the UK, including examples from all the major political parties.  As a souvenir from your visit, why not pick up a set of postcards from the museum shop featuring posters on display in the exhibition.

Mini Maker Faire at MOSI – Saturday 28 & Sunday 29 July

For the first time ever, Maker Faire comes to Manchester!  Maker Faire is a celebration of the things people create themselves, from electronic gizmos to homemade clothes and inventions built in the garden shed.  It’s the place where technology meets art, science meets fashion, engineering meets crafting – and that’s just the start!  Visit our friends down the road at MOSI and enjoy this exciting festival where people show what they’re making, and share what they’re learning.  You can even join in the fun and enter a project to exhibit.
