Banner Changeover
The museum’s Textile Conservators are currently busy with the museum’s annual banner changeover, so if you are planning a visit soon please note Main Gallery Two will be closed from Monday 16 January, re-opening on Saturday 21 January. Visit again soon and enjoy lots of newly conserved banners, including some on display for the first time. Don’t miss our Beautiful Banners tour on Friday 27 January, followed by a tour of the Textile Conservation Studio.
Mirth in the Mill opens Sat 14 January
Are you a fan of cartoons? Then don’t miss our new Community Gallery Exhibition, Mirth in the Mill, running until Sunday 4 March, co-ordinated by historians Terry Wyke and Alan Fowler. This intriguing exhibition provides a unique visual record of what used to be the leading industry in Lancashire and features cartoons drawn by Sam Fitton. Take inspiration from the exhibition and create your own mini-comic at our Cartoons & Comics workshop on Saturday 11 February.
