Beautiful Banners Coming Soon - Community Gallery exhibition, Voices Shop @ PHM Exciting changes at MOSI  
 
Banner change over If you’re planning to visit the museum, next week Main Gallery Two will be closed from Tuesday 18 January, opening again on Saturday 21 January. This is due to our annual banner change over taking place, which means there will soon be lots of newly conserved banners on display – including several that visitors won’t have seen before. Don’t miss a tour of the Textile Conservation Studio on Friday 28 January and enjoy a tour of the banners on display on Friday 4 February.   Voices Community Gallery exhibition, opening Saturday 15 January Running until Sunday 27 February, this exhibition by graduates from the Documentary Photography MA course at The University of Bolton explores the capabilities of social documentary photography by engaging with some of the important social issues in current society. Come along to the Voices Open Day on Saturday 22 January where graduates will be on hand to discuss their work, or why not take part in a photography seminar on Saturday 12 February with Ian Beesley, photographer and lecturer at The University of Bolton.
 
 
Shop @ PHM Not tired of the January sales yet? Then why not visit our fabulous shop, full of unique souvenirs and gifts for all ages. We’re planning to have more reproductions of items on display in the museum’s galleries soon and we’d love to hear your suggestions. Let us know your ideas when next visiting the museum using the comments book in the shop or email info@phm.org.uk. The shop will be out and about selling books at a reading by Jackie Kay at Stockport Central Library 6-8pm on Tuesday 1 February.  Free event and no need to book.   News from MOSI Just a short walk through Spinningfields from the museum, some exciting changes are happening at MOSI. Have fun in the massively revamped Experiment gallery, with over 30 hands-on activities for the whole family to enjoy. Also, the amazing new Revolution Manchester gallery is due to open on Saturday 29 January, showcasing some of Manchester’s greatest innovations, past and present. Packed with cutting-edge technology and featuring one of the country’s most impressive media walls, this is a must-see gallery for any visitor.
