Celebrate Manchester Histories Festival and enjoy our Radical Manchester tour of the Main Galleries, discover the fascinating findings of Manchester & Lancashire Family History Society, enjoy a family cycle ride with the Clarion Cycling Club and much more!

Women and Girls are Strong – opening Thursday 8 March

Celebrate International Women’s Day and be the first to see our new Community Gallery Exhibition, Women and Girls are Strong, running until Sunday 20 May.  This interactive exhibition curated by Feminist Webs will include everything you ever wanted to know about strong women, giving you the chance to add your own leaf to the ‘Histree’ and even visit the women’s igloo!  Also, don’t miss your chance to see Women Like You, the first contemporary portrait of suffragette Emmeline Pankhurst we are delighted to be displaying as part of Manchester Histories Festival.

Vote for PHM to win a visit from Martin Parr!

Please vote for the museum to win a visit from photographer Martin Parr in Culture24's Connect10 Museums at Night competition.  We would be delighted to bring Martin back to his student home of Manchester to talk about his work, inspiring young photographers living and working in the city.  We will also be inviting voters to submit their work on the theme of 'Protest' – more details to follow on our website.  Please also vote for The Working Class Movement Library in Salford to win a visit from photographer Simon Roberts.  Voting is open until 5.00pm on Monday 5 March.
