Pamphlet written by Philip Noel Baker, 1935
Philip Noel Baker (1889-1982) came from the Quaker/socialist tradition of the labour movement. He was an Olympic athlete both before and after World War I. During the war itself he was part of an ambulance unit that served on the Western Front. He first became an MP in 1929, he was a minister in the Attlee governments of 1945/1951. In 1959 he was awarded the Nobel Prize for Peace.
The pamphlet is currently on display in the Archive & Study Centre.
